Theorical orientation and education.
A little more about my therapy philosophy in a metaphor, living life is like going on one long big backpacking trip. Along this journey we will face challenges, unexpected setbacks and intense emotional experiences. We will meet people along the journey that may influence the paths we take and how we endure these challenges. These connections or experiences are not always good nor bad but things that we end up carrying in our backpack along our journey. We are not always taught how to carry the load or know when to let things go. Even worse, sometimes the map is vague or not ours, sometimes we get turned around. Let me offer a space for you to stop and rest, check the map, unpack, organize to reload or process and let go. Allowing you to be the most effective you, you can be. I believe authenticity and self expression are our map and compass on our journey. In other terms I am holistic, Adlerian approach with an emphasis in mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) interventions. This is my style but I am always learning and love to research other techniques or processes to offer more to my clients. I have recently began incorporating nature based therapy into my practice as I find reconnecting to our natural world an important aspect of healing.

I recently graduated from St Marys University in Minnesota spring 2022 with my Masters in counseling and psychological services. I am currently pursuing my License Practitioner of Clinical Counseling (LPCC) under supervision of a wonderful mentor. In my spare time I find myself in the woods near the Boundary Water Canoe Area foraging from mushrooms or sitting in a hammock. In the winter I will be outside nordic skiing or cozied up with a good book. I am interested in pursuing yoga and meditation certifications and find strengthening the body mind connection an important part of ones health.
